This is our go to place in Pompano for quick to-go and delivery. The ladies that run this joint are the nicest in town; their customer service makes the food taste even better. Always good and they have a large variety of options. Like others have mentioned, they get to know you and your order, and make the process much more fun. I would gladly give them my business at any given chance. They work tirelessly and make such consistent food. They have a super hot wok that cooks the food amazingly well.

Average to above average American Chinese. Friendly, quick service makes it one of my go to spots.

Decided to search yelp for a chinese take out place nearby. What a find! Ordered sweet n sour chix combo for dinner and the chinese donuts for dessert (enough to last you a week!) Also got the ice tea. Everything was yummy. Customer service was great. Had a small wait but that usually means the food is that good. Will be back

It's authentic Chinese but only to the extent of having that "cheap Made in China" quality. Basically it's a nothing of a place, a mere fast food or takeout. For whatever reason if you long for Asian food, few Chinese restaurants with the possible exceptions of Silver Pond (simple but very authentic) or Rainbow Palace (gourmet, pricey and upper class), can possible hold a candle to any one of the Thai or Japanese restaurants. I've tried several of the China Star slopped together Americanized Chinese concoctions and failed to find any that were very good.

Pretty good food. My family had 3 different dinner combos from this restaurant. My daughter loved the honey garlic chicken. Said it was better than our usual place in Coral Springs. A small order had a lot of chicken. My hubby had chicken and broccoli combo and also said better than the usual place. I had the general tso's chicken. I eat this a lot and it was not the best I had, but sauce was good. Could have been a little sweeter. Also too much breading on my chicken. Wait for delivery was a little over an hour on a Tuesday night. Overall a good experience and would return.

This is one of the best Chinese take-out places I've encountered around this area. I only gave it four stars because the name of this place along with its dingy-ish environment aren't exactly alluring factors that would draw people in. But it's take-out! My boyfriend and I usually order the chicken lo-mein and the sweet and sour chicken. The sweet and sour chicken is fried with some sort of batter that we dip in sweet and sour sauce. Yum, yum, yum! So good and crispy. We often order the crab rangoons that's also really good. There's a freshness to the food that I don't often taste at other Chinese take-outs. FYI, however, I've never tried anything with beef there. I'm often afraid to order beef dishes at any Chinese take-out restaurants since I've gotten one too many stale, extra chewy plates of beef dishes. Anyway, if you're looking for a decent place to order food, China Star isn't half so bad! Plus there are always leftovers!

I really love the streamed dumplings and the spring rolls here. Very small place so it's good for delivery or pickup.

I am originally from NYC. So finding the perfect tasting Chinese food has been a struggle.... Until I found China Star. The customer service is great! The ladies are very prompt and quick with your order, and somewhat psychic as when you walk in to pick up the order they know which is yours without asking. I have had the Chicken fried rice (excellent, full of flavor and lots of meat), the pork fried rice (also very flavorful and pork was tender not hard), the chicken broccoli (only place who serves the broccoli crisp and not overdone, also very flavorful and plenty for two people), the honey garlic (they are smart and serve the chicken dry with sauce on side as no one wants soggy chicken covered in sauce), the boneless spare ribs are delicious and pretty much if you want good Chinese take out you have to go there. NYC girl has found her Chinese spot.

Great Chinese take out. We usually get general tso's with fried rice. Portions are big and prices are good.

I'm happy to have China Star nearby. The food is good enough--it's your typical Chinese takeout, but it's definitely some of the better take out that I've had. And with that, I'd say it is hard to be overly picky with their prices. Whether you're ordering a lunch meal or a dinner platter, I don't spend more than $10 AND there is always leftovers. The staff is friendly, the food is good, the prices are great. I'd recommend it to anyone. Thanks China Star!

This is a great take out Chinese food place. They have the area's best General Tso Chicken and egg rolls (We tried a bunch of other places before settling on China Star). They have low prices and huge portions. I usually order the General Tso combo (comes with an egg roll) and its enough for a large dinner and lunch. The sisters who own this place are super nice, they quickly try to remember their customers, and the food is usually ready in about 15 minutes. Delivery is also pretty prompt. I highly recommend China Star!

Pretty good food, but the atmosphere leaves much to be desired. Though I have to say for fast and good chinese food in the area, I like this one.

I love it here. The service is excellent and always super friendly and fast. Almost everything on the menu is quite delicious. My favorite are their dumplings and soups. Everything is cooked on the spot and very fresh. The prices are very affordable and plenty of food to share. Dining in is small and clean and comfortable. =D

Food is okay, nothing special, but who expects great food in a Chinese take-out. The thing that really pushes the level down on the scale is the wait to get your food. Just don't get there before a crowd comes in to order or pick-up. Your order will wait until everyone's gone and then she'll say "Almost ready." If you watch carefully, you'll then see her go to the grill in a few minutes and begin to make your order. It's take-out, but definitely not 'fast food'. Nothing fast about this place at all.

I ordered Kung Pao chicken. It was more like Kung Pao celery. Tons of chopped veggies and not much chicken. Kung Pao is supposed to be spicy, right? It looked as bland as it tasted. The Pu Pu Platter was equally bland.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
